The problem
A Holmview homeowner was dealing with overflowing gutters and stormwater running down the front footpath and onto the property every time it rained. Water was collecting where it shouldn’t, rather than draining away.
What we found
Our plumber found the roof gutters were full, so rainwater was spilling over instead of reaching the downpipes. Separately, surface water from the front footpath had nowhere to go and was flowing straight onto the property. The homeowner also had a couple of taps that needed repairs and some gutter work.
Fixed-price options
Before starting any work, our plumber explained what he’d found and gave the homeowner fixed-price options. No hourly rate and no surprises. The homeowner chose the option that suited them and approved the work before we began.
What we did
- Cleared out the roof gutters
- Designed and installed a custom concrete channel drain with grating
- Installed a 300mm collection pit to capture the water
- Laid a drainage line with fall to the rear of the property for dispersal
- Carried out gutter work and repaired taps while on site
The result
The gutters are flowing again and surface water is now captured by the channel drain and carried away to the rear of the property instead of running onto it. All of the work was completed in one day.
