Leaking sink repair Parkinson – The Plumbing Gang

Location: Parkinson, Brisbane Southside
Service: Emergency leak repair
Date: September 2026
Turnaround: Booked as urgent and completed the same day

The problem

A Parkinson homeowner rang us first thing in the morning after finding water leaking from under the bathroom sink. Leaks like this can soak into cabinetry and flooring quickly, so we booked it as an urgent job.

On site that morning

Our plumber arrived early in the morning, isolated the water and traced the leak to a failed fitting under the basin. While he was there, he checked the rest of the home’s visible water connections as part of our complimentary plumbing inspection. He found ageing flexi hoses, oxidised pipework and old isolation valves in both bathrooms and the kitchen.

Fixed-price options before any work

Our plumber talked the homeowner through what he’d found and gave fixed-price options on the spot. The homeowner chose the option that fixed the leak and protected the rest of the home too.

What we did

  • Replaced the leaking fitting under the bathroom basin
  • Replaced the oxidised pipework in the bathroom
  • Replaced ageing flexi hoses
  • Fitted new mini isolation valves with flood guards in both bathrooms and the kitchen
  • Tested every connection before leaving

Why flood guards?

Burst flexi hoses are one of the most common causes of water damage in Brisbane homes. A flood guard sits on the isolation valve and automatically shuts off the water if the hose bursts, so a failed hose doesn’t turn into a flooded bathroom or kitchen.

The result

The leak was fixed and every fixture was protected by early afternoon on the same day the customer called. Everything was tested and talked through with the homeowner before our plumber left.

Tips after a leaking sink repair in Parkinson

Check under your sinks every few months for damp, swelling cabinets or rusty hoses. If you spot a problem, turn off the isolation valve and call us. In addition, flood guards can shut the water off automatically, so a small leak doesn’t become a flood. Learn more about our flood guards, or visit Urban Utilities for leak-checking tips.
