Turn the main stop valve clockwise. It’s usually near your water meter at the front boundary.
If water is near lights, power points or the switchboard, keep away. Turn the power off only if it’s safe.
If sewage is backing up, stop using toilets, showers, sinks and the washing machine.
Turn off the gas at the meter or cylinder, avoid flames and switches, and get everyone outside. Call 000 if there’s immediate danger.
