The short answer
TPG Academy is The Plumbing Gang’s internal training program. Every new team member goes through structured onboarding first. Then they receive ongoing training in their department, the software we use, our services and the products we install. As a result, you get a plumber and support team who know our standards and follow them on every job.
Available 24/7 across Brisbane and South East Queensland, with fixed-price options before any work starts.
Why we train
A plumbing licence is the starting point, not the finish line. For example, products change, standards change and the way we book, quote and report on jobs keeps improving.
That’s why TPG Academy keeps our plumbers, apprentices and office team up to date. As a result, customers get clear explanations, accurate fixed-price options and work done properly the first time.
What we teach
Training that covers every part of how we work, from the van to the office.
New team members learn how The Plumbing Gang works, from our values and safety standards to how we look after customers.
Focused training for each department, including plumbing, drainage, hot water, gas, roofing, customer service and operations.
Hands-on training in the systems we use to book jobs, record work, quote and keep customers updated.
How we diagnose problems, explain options in plain English, give fixed-price options and leave every job clean and tested.
Training on the hot water systems, fixtures, filters and other products we install, so we recommend the right one for each home.
Keeping up with plumbing and gas standards, safe work practices and the paperwork that goes with notifiable work.
How it works
Training at The Plumbing Gang doesn’t stop after the first week. First, new starters complete onboarding before heading out on jobs. After that, they keep learning through department, software, service and product training as they grow with the team.
In addition, apprentices learn alongside experienced licensed plumbers. Whenever products, standards or our systems change, the whole team is also kept up to date.
What TPG Academy means for our customers.
